This new clean tech industry produces a commercial source of natural rubber for medical products, biomass for energy production, adhesives, green chemicals and other energy producing alternatives.
The Source
Since guayule is an arid-lands crop, it demands less fertilizer and water and requires less cultivation than other crops such as corn. Yulex cultivates, harvests and processes guayule on marginal lands that would otherwise not be utilized because other crops do not grow properly on that land, or it's just too expensive to utilize these lands because other crops would require more water and fertilization.

Yulex’s eco-friendly equipment and sustainable processes lead the guayule industry.
Yulex is implementing processes to utilize the entire guayule plant so nothing but products come out of its bioprocessing facility and no waste is produced. Rubber is sub-segmented to latex and bulk producing high-revenue and sustainable products.
The facility uses a ‘closed-loop’ system effectively minimizing emissions and is also based on an aqueous process instead of harsh chemicals, with all the water used recaptured—a significant environmental accomplishment, particularly in the arid Southwest.
